County Commissioner Dist. 1
On February 5th, 2016, James D. King made the difficult decision to change his party affiliation from the Democrat to the Republican Party. James was a lifelong Democrat; serving on the Delaware County Council from 2009 through 2012, the last two years as President. Currently serving as Delaware County Commissioner, District 1, James has strived to improve the infrastructure and economic health of the community, reaching across party lines to best serve the people of Delaware County.
James has learned first hand that the interest of the Democrat controlled Delaware County Central Committee is often at odds with the best interest of the county residents. James has been labeled as “not a loyal Democrat” because he puts the interests of his community above party politics. The Democrat party leaders have targeted him in the upcoming primary election because he votes his conscience and his vote cannot be bought or controlled. As a Republican, James will be able continue his fight for the people and businesses of Delaware County, continue to oppose unjust tax increases, and combat the back room deals and partisanship of the Democrat party.
James has lived his entire life in Delaware County serving his community as a Law Enforcement Officer for the past 20 years, currently as the Chief of Police in Daleville. James, his wife Regina, sons Jordan and James Jr., Daughter-in-law Carly and Grandson Carter ask for your support in the upcoming election.
